Foundation
Since April 01, 1994, the W. & L. Jordan Foundation has promoted the training in the craft, securing training quality and furthermore strengthening the craft in general.
Every year, the Chairman of the Foundation decides on the awarding of prizes which to date have reached a total value of more than 20 000 €. Initially the Foundation supported guilds in North Hessia and Thuringia, but since 2002 it has expanded its commitment across the sectors and the country.
The W. &. L. Jordan Foundation Prize has been awarded to junior and senior craftsmen of the most varied chamber districts and guilds more than 30 times. The foundation's purpose has meanwhile been extended to the support of the needy in the trade and their families - a decision, from which the victims of the flood in 2002 were able to profit, for example.
